Gift In Your Will

Every year Drug ARM reaches out to thousands of people who are at risk of harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. You can help prevent and reduce harms by leaving a bequest in your will to Drug ARM.

Giving a lasting gift in your will is a special way to ensure your stories, values, beliefs and passion for the community lives on.

Of course, you and your loved ones come first. However, if after taking care of their needs you are considering how you can ensure your passion for a cause close to your heart is continued. People who make a gift in their will to Drug ARM play an important role. Rather than providing short term solutions, they fund the long-term strategies and innovations of the organisation. Bequests that are left to Drug ARM ensure that Drug ARM can continue to grow and innovate and be here to support future generations of people who need our help.

Leaving a gift in your will is easy

Leaving a gift in your will is a simple process that could make a real difference.

If you do not have a will and wish to create one, it is a good idea to get legal advice. If you don't have a solicitor you can contact the Public Trustee in your state or territory.

If you already have a will, then all you need to do is add a codicil – a short legal amendment to your existing will.

Wording for your will

To include Drug ARM in your will we suggest that you use the following wording (subject to legal advice):

“I give (free of all duties) the sum of $... to Drug ARM (Australasia) and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift."

“I give (free of all duties) ….% of the whole of my estate to Drug ARM (Australasia) and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift.”

“I give (free of all duties) the residue of my estate to Drug ARM (Australasia) and I direct that the receipt of its treasurer, secretary or public officer for the time being shall be an absolute discharge to my Trustee. I declare a general charitable intention in relation to this gift.”
